The licensing costs for Picturepark are made up of four main factors:

SaaS Hosting or Onsite Server model
Number of ReadWrite user
Modules, Add-Ons and Connectors
Type of service level agreement (SLA)

User

In Picturepark, anyone who searches, downloads or distributes media assets free of charge is a reading user.

Billable user are ReadWrite-User who have write rights, in other words user who may import data, carry out keywording and manage the system. ReadWrite-User can be divided into many types of groups with different rights.

Software as a Service (SaaS)

Picturepark can be hosted as Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. With a SaaS hosting, VIT takes responsibility for the operating; hosting of the application and data takes place in our manifold secured hosting center in Switzerland. High-performing Internet uplinks, redundant clustered systems and components as well as load-balancing and fail-over mechanisms guarantee a high level availability of all services.

All systems are permanently monitored from different internal and external measuring points. A 24x7 service organisation is automatically mobilised on incidents and clears faults in order to have your assets available around the clock wherever you are in the world.

A four level backup concept (online, nearline, offline tape and offline safe) ensures optimal data and operational security. A data restore of a worst case-scenario is up to a week in the past possible (daily differential backups).

With a SaaS solution, there is no investment in licenses and all updates are always included. In the event of a migration to a dedicated server (operating in the IT of the customer) the licensing costs are fully chargeable.

Onsite Server

With Onsite Server, Picturepark is operated in the customer’s area of responsibility. You have the option of accessing software updates or of having these directly installed by VIT.
